AIHT-About Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities




Anand Institute of Higher Technology, an institute
of academic excellence, was founded in the year 2000
by the Kalasalingam and Anandam AmmalCharities
trust which runs seven institutions including our
Kalasalingam university (KU) which was previously
known as Arulmigu Kalasalingam college of Engineering.
It was established in 1984 at Srivilliputtur and has
established TIFAC-CORE in Network Engineering a
world class facility. The trust’s ambition to build centers
of excellence in technology in the rural areas and to
provide ample opportunities to the rural youth has
highly appreciated by his Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul
Kalam and other luminaries like Dr. Venkatasubramnian,
Member Planning commission, Govt. of India,
Dr. R.Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Advisor,
Govt. of India, Prof.V.N.Rajasekharan Pillai,
Vice chairman,UGC, Dr. V.S.Ramamoorthy,
Secy-Dept. of Science & Technology who visited
the college have lauded the efforts of the founder
Chairman Kalvivallal Thiru T.Kalasalingam B.Com.

ADHOC IT –The Association of IT Professionals in AIHT



ADHOC IT is a group of young professionals with varied backgrounds,
having rich experience in volunteering initiatives and passionate
about one single goal - Celebrating Education. In a world stained
by technical and soft skill exploitation, the students of the
Department of IT, AIHT have decided to conduct a National Level
Technical Symposium on March,13th, 2009. This grand event will
enable us to explore interesting trends in Computer Science &
Information Technology and provide a platform to showcase
innovation and creativity in various fields.

PAPER PRESENTATION ( 2 per team )



  • Two hard copies and one soft copy of the paper on specified topics
    have to reach us on or before 03.03.2009 to the Co-ordinator.
    Papers received after the due date will not be considered.
    Papers to be prepared as per IEEE format.
  • The papers will be reviewed and the authors of the selected papers
    will be intimated by mail/telephone on or before 05.03.2009
  • The presentation shall have a maximum allotted period of 10 minutes
    followed by 5 minutes of questioning by the judges and audience
  • Overhead Projector/Multimedia Projector will be available.
  • Papers will be selected on the basis of originality of ideas
    and its application.
  • Judges decision will be final.

software on any of the following topic
have to reach us on or before
03.03.2009 to the Co-ordinator.
Entries received after the due date will
not be considered.
  • The softwares will be reviewed and
the developers of the selected softwares
will be intimated by mail or telephone
on or before 05.03.2009.
  • The presentation shall have a
maximum allotted period of 12 minutes
followed by 3 minutes of questioning by
the judges and audience.
  • Overhead Projector & Multimedia Projector
will be available
  • Judges decision will be final.
  • Developers are requested to be present
with the required softwares

Debugging ( 2 per team )



  • A preliminary test will select the
teams who will subsequently participate in the
final online test in debugging.

  • The team’s expertise in the C, C++ & JAVA
Programming language and familiarity with
general Programming concepts will be tested.

  • Two members per team
  • Spot registration is only available

Digital Art Using Photoshop ( 2 per team )



After a written prelimnary round
(objective type test),the shorted
listed teams will proceed to the
final stage where they have to design
using PHOTOSHOP on the given theme.
Images and backgrounds will be
made available for their use.


  • Two members per team
  • Only Spot registration is available


General Quiz ( 2 per team )




After a written prelimnary round
(objective type test),the shorted listed
teams will proceed to the final stage,
which will comprise of questions pertaining
to Computer science, IT industry, Current
affairs and General Knowledge.

  • Two members per team
  • Prelims will be conducted for 20mins
  • 6 Teams will be selected for the Finals

Mock Interview ( Indiviual Event )



  • An aptitude test will select the individuals who
will subsequently participate in the
group discussion.
  • Five among them will make it to the final interview.
  • This interview will simulate an MNC interview.
  • The person who exhibits excellent soft skills
will be the winner.
  • Prelims will be conducted for 20min
  • 16 contestants will be selected for G.D
  • Finals will be a H.R interview
  • Both the G.D and the H.R interview will be conducted by a Software Professional
